“We’re excited to have a leader with Jesse’s experience, commitment and values join us to lead Ascension Health Senior Care,” said Patricia A. Maryland, President, Healthcare Operations and Chief Operating Officer, Ascension Health.
Senior care is an important and growing segment of the healthcare continuum. Ascension Health Senior Care is the second-largest not-for-profit long-term care provider in the United States, providing care for more than 5,500 individuals across the country on any given day.
“As the Baby Boom generation ages, the need for high-quality, holistic care for seniors continues to expand,” said Sandra Johnson, Chair of the Ascension Health Senior Care Board. “We’re so glad Jesse will be bringing his passion and expertise to the organization.”
“Given its size and scope, Ascension Health Senior Care has the opportunity to transform the field of aging, impacting seniors across the country,” Jantzen said. “I’m looking forward to working with a committed team of leaders, associates and physicians as we strive together to bring person-centered care to those we’re privileged to serve.”
“Ascension Health Senior Care is a great example of the value of our Journey to One Ascension,” Dr. Maryland said. “By combining senior services across our integrated national ministry, we are in a better position to provide valued care to seniors as part of regional clinically integrated systems of care.”
“I also want to acknowledge the tremendous contributions of Mark Frey, who served a key role during the creation of Ascension Health Senior Care and has served as its CEO since its launch in 2014,” Dr. Maryland said. “Mark now will be able to devote his full energies to his continuing role as Illinois Market Executive for Ascension Health and President and CEO of Alexian Brothers Health System.”
