Thomas “Tim” Stover, MD, currently serves as interim Ministry Market Executive for the Ascension Michigan region. Ascension one of the leading non-profit and Catholic health systems in the U.S., and it operates 15 hospitals and hundreds of related healthcare facilities in Michigan, employing over 20,000 associates. Dr. Stover is a board-certified OB/GYN and served in numerous leadership roles including senior vice president of medical affairs, chief medical officer, Physician Group executive and health care administration at Akron General Health System. He was instrumental in creating a partnership between the Akron General Health System and the Cleveland Clinic in 2015. Dr. Stover pioneered a “well care” model in 1996 with the opening of an award-winning, 217,000-square-foot Health and Wellness Center Akron, later expanding the program into a network of facilities. In 2018, Dr. Stover came to Ascension Michigan to service for seven months as interim president of Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo while a search was underway for a new president. He returned to Ascension Michigan in June 2019 in another interim role when Michigan Market Executive Joseph Cacchione, MD, was promoted to a new position at Ascension’s national level. A search is underway for the permanent market executive for the state.
