Ted Matson recently joined AMITA Health to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Transformation Officer. In this role, Ted will drive innovation across the AMITA Health system, with a focus on engaging consumers, better understanding the communities’ healthcare needs, and developing strategic initiatives that address those needs and foster sustained growth.

Ted is an accomplished executive with a strong track record of innovative thinking and extensive experience in healthcare operations and business development. He plans to assemble and lead a business transformation team focused on developing growth strategies, including new programs and ventures. He will oversee the setting of AMITA Health’s strategic course.

Most recently, Ted served as Vice President, System Strategy, for Sutter Health in Sacramento, California, one of the nation’s largest integrated healthcare systems.

AMITA Health also recently welcomed Earl J. Barnes II as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. In this role, Earl is responsible for providing direction and advice to senior executives and the board, while working collaboratively with the chief legal officers of Ascension and AdventHealth to facilitate the organization’s strategic agenda. He manages the legal staff as well as the compliance and risk management teams.

Earl previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Advocate Health Care, where he advised Advocate’s CEO, senior management and various boards regarding strategic priorities, hospital and physician group affiliations and acquisitions, and physician recruitment and alignment.
