Ascension Indiana has appointed two new leaders. Erica Wehrmeister, MBA, BSN, RN, has been named President, Central Region, Indianapolis. Lori Shannon, MBA, BSN, RN, has been named President, St. Vincent Heart Center.
Erica brings nearly 20 years of healthcare experience to her role, holding several progressive nursing and leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer for St. Vincent Indianapolis. As President, she will lead the senior management team charged with creating and implementing the strategic and operational direction of the ministry. She was a member of community 14 of the Ascension Executive Ministry Leadership formation program.
Lori brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to her role, holding several progressive nursing and leadership positions. As the leader of the St. Vincent Heart Center and the Cardiovascular (CV) Service Line, Lori is responsible for strategically positioning the hospital and the CV service at the forefront of the healthcare industry. Lori will work collaboratively with the St. Vincent Heart Center Board of Directors to continue to shape the strategic and operational direction of the ministry to meet the needs of those we serve.
Joel Feldman, MD, former President, Central Region, Indianapolis, has made the decision to retire from Ascension Indiana effective June 30. He has served St. Vincent for 35 years as an attending physician and in various senior leadership roles.
