Ascension Texas has acquired medical providers and clinic locations formerly affiliated with Little River Healthcare in Central Texas.

The acquisition will allow the clinic in Temple, Texas, formerly known as King’s Daughters Clinic, which had closed in early December, to resume providing medical care for patients. The acquisition includes specialty and primary-care clinic locations across Central Texas, including a significant presence in Georgetown, Texas.

The transaction adds trusted physicians, advanced practitioners and staff members to Ascension Texas and its sites of care at Seton Healthcare Family and Providence Healthcare Network. The transitioning medical offices are planned to open on Jan. 8.

“We are proud of the new partnership with physicians and staff formerly affiliated with Little River, as their continued commitment to residents of Central Texas aligns with the compassionate care we provide to our local communities,” said Craig Cordola, Senior Vice President, Ascension Healthcare, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Texas. “We believe this will strengthen healthcare in the region and allow these trusted physicians and medical staff to ensure continuity of care to those they serve.”

“King’s Daughters Clinic in Temple has provided 92 years of care, and the Ascension Texas acquisition allows our physicians to continue providing medical care to patients in our community,” said Dr. Jamie Callas, Chief Medical Officer, Ascension Medical Group Temple-Georgetown.

“This strategy seamlessly connects Ascension Texas patient care from Austin to Waco. This also allows us a platform to expand access and services to the community,” said Clayton Carsner, Chief Operating Officer, Ascension Medical Group-Texas.

The acquisition will broaden Ascension Texas outreach to Central Texas communities, Craig said, connecting more residents with the medical expertise and personalized healthcare at the Ascension Texas flagship hospitals, including Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, Seton Medical Center Austin, Providence Health Center and Dell Children’s Medical Center, the region’s only comprehensive children’s hospital and pediatric Level I trauma center. Ascension Texas will also be working closely with its joint venture partner hospital Seton Harker Heights to ensure geographic access to services.
