Last month, leaders from across the state of Wisconsin gathered at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – St. Joseph Campus for UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Wisconsin’s Innovation Day. The event was designed to discuss solutions for healthier communities, with a special focus on children and families.

Reggie Newson, Chief Advocacy Officer, Ascension Wisconsin, moderated a panel on trauma with guests Wisconsin First Lady Tonette Walker, Marquette University President Michael Lovell, and leaders from several organizations.

“Health and well-being don’t stop at the doctor’s office,” the panel said. “It’s everywhere in the community, and healing childhood trauma begins with fostering strong relationships.”
