Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has a new partnership with the Community Blood Center, a non-profit organization that provides local blood supply to hospitals.
To celebrate the new partnership, the blood center held a ribbon cutting at the hospital and sponsored a community blood drive.
“The blood that’s donated here today goes to patients who need blood in local hospitals,” said John Hagins, President and CEO of Community Blood Center. “One donation can save up to three lives, and there's no synthetic, there's no manufactured way to create the blood products that are needed.”
”It’s our first blood drive today in Stevens Point. So we wanted to get to know the community a little better, get to know the hospital a little better,” said Tyler Sjostrom, Community Blood Center’s Public Relations and Community Engagement Specialist.
The new relationship also extends to Ascension Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston, Wisconsin.
