The Jacksonville Business Journal recently featured an interview with Tom VanOsdol, Senior Vice President, Ascension, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Florida, about the future of healthcare for Ascension St. Vincent’s and what sets the health system apart.

“It’s our Mission that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, gets the best possible quality of care, and they get that in an environment of love, respect, reverence and healing,” he said.

Patients want more points of access, including digital healthcare, he said. To serve the community, St. Vincent’s operates a mobile health outreach ministry to provide access to care for the underserved as well as giving patients the ability to schedule care online, anytime, he said. In addition, St. Vincent’s patients can alert care teams in the Emergency Department of their arrival before they enter the hospital.

“I only see healthcare going more in that direction toward virtual and digital channels, and we are advancing that further,” Tom said. “We want to be the leader in access, and the way people want to access their care is much more through technology.”
