Providence Health System in Washington, D.C., recently launched Ascension Online Care, a 24/7 virtual urgent care that allows a patient to have a one-on-one video visit with a healthcare provider. The launch was covered in an article by the Washington Business Journal.

The article mentions Ascension’s national “Access to Care, Anytime Anywhere” marketing campaign. “Ascension Online Care is our first Ascension-branded consumer access product, and our marketing campaign is designed to build broad awareness among those who need greater access to care from home, at a lower cost, or simply at a more convenient time,” Nick Ragone, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Ascension, told the newspaper.

“The virtual platform meets an important and growing need for residents of wards 7 and 8 in the District, where there’s a gross lack of access to urgent, specialty and acute care services — and, as a result, patients are forced to travel farther to see a doctor,” the Business Journal said.
