Thanks to a $230,000 grant from the Ascension Ministry and Mission Fund, nine Patient Service Representatives of Ascension Medical Group (AMG) in Indiana recently became Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs). They completed a 14-week CCMA course followed by 80 hours of hands-on clinicals.

They were the second group to complete the program, which is conducted in partnership with Vincennes University and led internally by AMG. Vincennes University provides course-related materials and content, and St. Vincent Medical Group provides instructors, classroom space, supplies and equipment. The goal is to have 90 individuals participate in the program this fiscal year.

The Ascension Ministry and Mission Fund was established in 2014 by Ascension Chief Executive Officer Anthony R. Tersigni, EdD, FACHE, and his wife, Flora, to invest in associates.
