New office space for Ascension Technologies brings together 20 associates as part of an innovative, collaborative technology environment that is expected to help attract skilled talent for the future.

The associates – focused on web and mobile development, tech automation, cloud strategy, analytics and data science, and virtual care – are now located at Cortex, a nationally and internationally recognized hub of innovation and technology commercialization in St. Louis. That number is expected to grow as the organization adds technology professionals.

“I like working for Ascension Technologies because of our Mission,” said Angela Kamman, Product Owner. “But being located at Cortex gives us lots of opportunities to network with other companies and interact with colleagues more informally.”

A recent open house at the new site featured remarks from Anthony Tersigni, EdD, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascension; Gerry Lewis, Ascension Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Technologies; and Dennis Lower, President and CEO of Cortex Innovation Community.

“I’m extremely pleased to be here in Cortex. This is an amazing organization, facility and moment for us as Ascension,” Tony said. “It really is taking our technology thoughts to the next level. I’m also very interested in making sure that we’re recruiting the next generation of leaders.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations.

“It’s a dynamic and vibrant environment down here,” said Ryan Joyce, Director, Data Interoperability. “Being located at Cortex is an opportunity for us to be more visible to the broader technology and business community.”
