A couple weeks before his busy Christmas Eve night, Santa Claus visited babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at Seton Medical Center Austin, part of Ascension Texas. The babies were decked out in outfits knitted by the charity Threads of Love.
“Dayshift and nightshift nurses, they get dressed up and they put the whole thing together,” nurse Ingrid Bales told KVUE.
“During the holidays, it’s extra stressful when they [parents] can’t go home with their other children or maybe travel,” she said. “So they’re kind of stuck here. I think it just brings them some joy that their baby didn’t miss their first Christmas with Santa.”
