Thanks to a grant from the Indiana Rural School Clinic Network, Ascension St. Vincent Salem Hospital, part of Ascension Indiana, has partnered with West Washington schools in Campbellsburg, Indiana, to open a telehealth clinic.

The grant allowed West Washington to buy telehealth equipment, and Ascension St. Vincent Salem provides a nurse practitioner.

Hospital Administrator Dana Muntz said the clinic will offer “convenient, quality care closer to home.”

“It is going to open a new world for our students to be able to be in class longer,” nurse Dawn Woods told WLKY. “You would have never imagined that we’d be doing doctor’s visits through my office.”

Dana said Ascension St. Vincent Salem Hospital plans to provide similar telehealth technology to other schools in Washington County, Indiana.
