Paul J. Posey, Jr., JD, is Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Care Management (ACM) in St. Louis. Ascension Care Management is a subsidiary of Ascension, the largest not-for-profit health system in the U.S. and the world's largest Catholic health system.
As CEO of ACM Mr. Posey’s collaborates with stakeholders and healthcare delivery markets on value based contracting. He also is responsible for operationalizing the support systems for Ascension’s population health strategies. As such, he is improving health services for Ascension associates and their families and developing population health services for commercial sale.
Mr. Posey is transforming the way the largest not-for-profit health system in the country assesses, manages and finances risk, while building commercial products and services to create new revenue and income streams. Mr. Posey is responsible for establishing a multi-faceted, enterprise-wide risk strategy, encompassing risk identification, quantification, mitigation and finance and protecting human, capital and financial resources for 150,000 associates serving in 2,500 sites of care in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
Prior to joining Ascension, Mr. Posey served as Chief Executive Officer of Canopy Claims Management, LLC, of Orlando, Florida, where he provided expert policyholder representation. Previously he spent 14 years with Sedgwick Claims Management Services in Memphis, Tennessee, most recently as Chief Operating Officer. He was a key leader supporting the growth of Sedgwick from a $100 million revenue company to the industry’s largest claims and productivity management company, with revenues in excess of $1 billion and more than 10,000 employees.
Mr. Posey earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis, and both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Christian Brothers University, Memphis. He has served on numerous community, industry and religious boards. He is a member of the Memphis and Tennessee Bar Associations, Leadership Membership, and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
