 Performance Along the Quadruple Aim


Ascension Medical Group has excelled in a variety of clinical quality initiatives, including improving mammography screening rates by 19 percentage points, an 18% increase. This improvement has resulted in the screening of more than 80,000 women who were otherwise not receiving optimal care. It is estimated that 563 breast cancer deaths were potentially prevented based on these efforts. (Biennial breast cancer screening of women ages 50-74 NNS = 144)** Number needed to screen to prevent one cancer death from biennial screening ages 50–74 years, corresponding to United States Preventive Services Task Force mammography screening recommendations.

Early markers of Ascension Medical Group’s success include the ongoing implementation of a single practice management system across all of our markets. Other implementations include a nationwide billing system; athena Clinicals; and Phreesia digital check-in system.


As Ascension Medical Group continues to strengthen its national network of physician partners and providers, there has been an intentional focus on the formation of the medical group community and alignment of national priorities. Building community fosters an environment of sharing and collaboration between peers, across geographies as well as formative experiences that help restore the joy of practice and create a common sense of purpose.
