Jane Phillips Medical Center Recognized for Excellence in Trauma Care

Jane Phillips Medical Center's Emergency Department recently was recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Health for its delivery of care to trauma patients and clinical excellence in working with Bartlesville Ambulance Service. Jane Phillips Medical Center is a member of St. John Health System, in the Ascension Tulsa Ministry Market.

The state recognized Jane Phillips Medical Center and Bartlesville Ambulance Service's trauma care efforts as "Leaders in the State of Oklahoma in getting the right patient to the right place in the right amount of time." Both organizations received a medallion inscribed with "Trauma Shining Star Oklahoma" and pins with "Leader in Trauma Care" during the Oklahoma Region 2 Trauma Advisory board meeting.

Heather Booher, a representative from the Oklahoma State Department of Health Emergency Systems, recognized Jane Phillips Medical Center and Bartlesville Ambulance Service for their combined efforts in rapid triage and transfer of trauma patients as the best in Oklahoma, averaging between 28 and 36 minutes from door to transport for trauma patients requiring a higher level of care.

"Jane Phillips is pleased and proud to receive this recognition," said Mike Moore, Jane Phillips Medical Center President and Chief Operating Officer. "We credit the Jane Phillips emergency department staff and Bartlesville Ambulance Service who work hard every day to meet the needs of our most critically ill patients with excellence and compassion."

In July 2016, the St. John Medical Center trauma services program received reverification as a Level II Trauma Center by the Verification Review Committee, an ad hoc committee of the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons. This achievement recognizes the trauma program's dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
